BEAVER SCOUTS

BEAVERS

Beavers is our youngest section and is aimed at children aged 6 to 8 years.  It is open to both sexes and we have 11 Beaver colonies in Sutton Coldfield East District.

Spaces are usually tight in most colonies with waiting lists at most.  Leader availability is also a problem in that most colonies have to meet early and this reduces the available pool of adults able to help run the meetings.  Hence the waiting lists.

That said, all Beaver colonies organise exciting programmes to make the experience as fun and educational as possible.  The Scout District and the groups also run a Beaver programme with days out and overnight sleep overs.

We need as much adult help as we can get and in order to reduce waiting lists we need more adults to volunteer to help.  With virtually all our Beaver colonies having full membership quotas (each colony is restricted to a maximum of 24), we are talking about new sections, which is not easy to achieve.  If you are interested, please click an email link below or select ‘Get Involved’ above to send us a message.
