Scouting Success for the 11th SCE

There’s no denying that we have all faced a tough few years, but in true scouting fashion. We have prevailed and adapted.

Here at the 11th we have a very new but dedicated team, they consist of myself an ASL , Rohan SL , Beth ASL and will section assistant. We have been together as a team for around the last two and a half years . So in 2021 it was with great pleasure that we got our first scouting gold award since 2017 with Harvey Clarke. Now this was a super proud moment as I had seen this scout through the 4 years he had been with us. This was followed early 2022 with three more gold awards coming from Lara DIxon, Elliot WInterbottom and Johnathan Williams. Now to see how these four young people have not only grown with us over the last four years but to see how they have adapted to not only situations within scouting but to what was going on around them in the last few years. That has made us as leaders extremely proud.

Now sometimes leaders get awards too and it is with great pride that I tell you about my sect leader Rohan who not only competed his queens scout award but he got a commissioners Commendation for supporting scouting through the pandemic. He not only supported us as a troop but his support was felt across the district. While doing this he also received his wood badge along with Kristina who also received her wood badge.

Another leader success goes to our ASL Beth who was selected to be a leader on the upcoming world jamboree to Korea. This selection was a vigorous process and her dedication to not only give up her time but the amount of fundraising she is doing is amazing.
