17th Sea Scouts donate to Ukraine

The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Parents and Leaders at the 17th Sutton Coldfield Sea Scouts have raised a massive £428 for the UNICEF appeal to ease the suffering of Ukrainian children caught up in the conflict.

This was raised on one night for each Section. Parents and Leaders were invited to wear something Blue and Yellow for their next section meeting and bring in a donation.

Group Scout Leader, Gareth Hyland, was overwhelmed by the generosity of the members, parents and leaders.

“I’m just in awe of the charity of our members, I know our parents and leaders are probably making donations through other fundraising sources such as local schools and collections, so to give even more at such short notice was heartwarming”.

We closed our Cubs meeting with a prayer for the children of Ukraine and I felt honoured to be the GSL of such a great Scout Group.
